BBQ Pulled Beef Sliders

Ingredients:

For the Pulled Beef:

  • 2 lbs (900g) Beef shoulder or Beef butt
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)

For the Sliders:

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 ½ cups coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Extra BBQ sauce, for topping
  • Melted butter, for brushing tops of buns (optional)

Directions:

  1. Season the Beef:
    Rub Beef with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook the Beef (Slow Cooker or Oven):
    Slow Cooker: Place Beef in slow cooker with apple cider vinegar. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.
    Oven: Place Beef in a Dutch oven, add vinegar, cover, and bake at 300°F (150°C) for 3–4 hours, until fork-tender.
  3. Shred and Sauce:
    Shred Beef with two forks and mix in 1 cup of BBQ sauce. Keep warm.
  4. Assemble the Sliders:
    Slice slider buns in half. Layer pulled Beef, extra BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and pickles if desired. Top with bun lids and brush tops with melted butter.
  5. Optional Bake (for melty goodness):
    Cover assembled sliders with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–15 minutes.
